Rotaract of Springfield, MO

Services & Activities

Community Service

As a service club, Rotaract’s primary goal is to serve those in need. Rotaract supports the youth by giving each year to Great Circle. One of the primary reasons Great Circle is Rotaract’s signature charity is that it provides an opportunity for interaction between the kids and club members. Rotaract hosts the kids’ annual Halloween party and helps the kids decorate for Christmas. Recently, the club has been hosting back-to-school bashes for the Great Circle residents. Other opportunities Rotaract provides to the Great Circle kids includes going roller skating, getting ice cream, making crafts, bowling, baking, playing sports, talking about professional development, and simply being there to provide one-on-one contact for the kids in need. Members are always fundraising for Great Circle throughout the year, whether through special events or at monthly meetings.

Double Dare & Rock’n Ribs

Double Dare and Rock’n Ribs are Rotaract’s twolargest annual events. Double Dare is uniquely 'ours' and we are proud to say that each year we have raised record-breaking amounts for the kids at Great Circle. In 2019, we are changing venues to the Oasis Hotela and Convention Center due to popular demand. Be sure to sign a team up ASAP!

The annual Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival is hosted by all five Rotary Clubs of Springfield and the Rotaract Club of Springfield. Rotaract members volunteer for the fundraiser and serve up their own food and beverages from the Rotaract Club of Springfield tent. Rotaract has helped Rock’n Ribs reach the $1 million mark in funds donated to nearly ten local children’s charities. The 2019 event will be the 20th annual event and in 2014 Rotaract won it's first-ever award, "Best Booth" with Sunrise Rotary. The theme was "redneck Christmas!" We switch up the themes yearly.

Social & Athletics

The social committee coordinates a variety of events throughout the year so members can get to know one another and develop long-lasting personal relationships. Functions include happy hours, an annual March Madness party, attending local sporting events, breakfast socials and more.

The athletic committee focuses on the spirit of teamwork and the opportunity to participate in an activity that promotes the health and well-being of our members. Events include a basketball tournament in conjunction with the other Rotary Clubs and the formation of teams for sports such as volleyball. Members are welcome to join Rotarians at their golf outings. Recently there is a new focus on expanding athletics to socials such as cornhole, frisbee golf, putt-putt, etc.
